Mount Union defensive end Rossy Moore and fellow Purple Raider, running back Tyler Echeverry, lead the D3football.com 2024 All-Region 4 team. Moore was named Region 4 Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive year, while Echeverry was named the Region 4 Offensive Player of the Year.

Hope coach Peter Stuursma, who coached the Flying Dutchmen to an 11-1 overall mark, including the program’s first-ever playoff win and a berth in the third round of the NCAA playoffs, is the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

NCAA Division III realigned Division III football into six regions in 2021. Region 4 includes the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the North Coast Athletic Conference and the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Moore, a senior defensive end/bandit from Lima, Ohio, has recorded 18 tackles for loss and nine sacks in his 12 games for Mount Union. He was also credited with 89 total tackles, 48 of them solo, as well as three passes broken up and a fumble recovery.

Moore is the only player to be named Defensive Player of the Year for his region three years in a row in any region on the D3football.com All-Region team, which is in its 20th season. Two players have been named Offensive Player of the Year three times: Mount Union running back Nate Kmic (2006-2007-2008) and UW-Whitewater running back Levell Coppage (2009-2010-2011).

Echeverry, a senior from Naples, Florida, has run for 1,406 yards and 24 touchdowns on 179 carries over 12 games for the Purple Raiders this season. He has also caught 27 passes for 191 yards and four scores.

The teams, selected in balloting by Region 4 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 164 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 78 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
