John Carroll quarterback Nick Semptimhelter and Mount Union defensive end Kaleb Brown lead the D3football.com 2025 All-Region 4 team. Brown was named Region 4 Defensive Player of the Year, while Semptimphelter was named the Region 4 Offensive Player of the Year.
John Carroll coach Jeff Behrman, who has coached the Blue Streaks to an 11-1 overall mark, including a trip to the national quarterfinals following a third round playoff win at Mount Union, is the Region 4 Coach of the Year.
NCAA Division III realigned Division III football into six regions in 2021. Region 4 includes the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the North Coast Athletic Conference and the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Semptimphelter, a senior from Franklin, Tennessee, has thrown for 3,060 yards and 31 touchdowns while throwing just three interceptions. He has completed 79.2% of his passes on the season, including a 25-for-26 performance in Week 1 at Waynesburg, which set the NCAA Division III record for completion percentage in a single game. (It was later broken.) Semptimphelter has also run for three touchdowns.
Brown, a senior defensive end/bandit from La Plata, Maryland, recorded 17½ tackles for loss and 10½ sacks in his 12 games for Mount Union. He was also credited with 62 total tackles, 32 of them solo, as well as seven passes broken up, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Brown plays the same hybrid defensive position for Mount Union played by Rossy Moore, who was the Region 4 Defensive Player of the Year three years in a row, from 2022 to 2024.
The teams, selected in balloting by Region 4 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 145 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 79 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced Monday, Dec. 22, 2025.
