People often ask -- when are Division III football schedules released?

There's no one single answer! There are 241 Division III football programs this fall, if everyone makes it to the start of the season, and it can vary, any time from January to over the summer. But generally by the time we get to this point, we are in pretty good shape. In this case, as of May 21, there are 180 complete schedules, and 1,000-plus games in the system out of what will probably be about 1,200 regular season games. Around 90 percent of all games are in.

Some of the new and intriguing non-conference games for 2025 include Mount Union playing Grove City and Wheaton, or Grove City playing Mount Union and Cortland. Central hosts Randolph-Macon. Carnegie Mellon plays UW-La Crosse. Trinity (Texas) travels to play its former assistant coach at Pacific Lutheran. UW-Platteville faces Aurora and Springfield. Division III will see its first game played in Arizona, as that's where Lake Forest will take on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Plus, it's the first varsity season at Maine Maritime, New England College and Roanoke. Mary Hardin-Baylor was only able to find one D-III non-conference opponent this season, as UW-Whitewater will continue the series between the programs, but UMHB is filling the gap with a challenging slate against ranked NAIA opponents Bethel (Tenn.) and Texas Wesleyan, as well as Mars Hill, a D-II school in North Carolina which went 5-4 in 2024.
