Austin College's Ross, Bouchez Named SCAC Players of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Austin College football players Madison Ross and Ben Bouchez have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for their outstanding performances against Whittier College last weekend.

Ross, a senior running back from Fort Worth, gained a career-high 207 yards on 21 carries and rushed for three touchdowns in a 55-12 win over Whittier. He piled up 160 of those yards on just 12 carries in the first half, averaging 9.9 yards-per-carry for the game. Ross is currently leading the SCAC and sixth in all of NCAA Division III in rushing yards this season.

Bouchez, a junior linebacker from McKinney, led an Austin College defense that came up with eight takeaways, including six interceptions, against the Poets. Bouchez had two picks, both of which he returned for touchdowns. He returned his first interception 52 yards for a score, and added a 45 yard interception return in the fourth quarter. He also had three tackles.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
