SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nichols College freshman Dominique Brunson (Winter Haven, Fla.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Football Defensive Rookie of the Week.

Brunson collected his first collegiate interception in the second quarter of Saturday's game at Coast Guard and returned it seven yards, giving the Bison the ball inside the Bears 25-yard line. Later in the quarter, his second interception halted a nine-play, 45-yard Coast Guard. Brunson also had three tackles on the day.

On the season, Brunson has registered eight tackles (six solo).

The Bison (2-1) head to upstate New York this Saturday for a noon contest with Morrisville State.
