No Friday night games in this part of the country, but there are some good games nonetheless, so a three-game trip is worth your time and effort. Plus, we're giving you a day off, and who doesn't want a day off? We start this southern tour with Belhaven at Millsaps, and if you're paying attention, you realize that this game is at Millsaps two years in a row. Belhaven was supposed to have its new stadium open by now, but it is taking a little longer than expected to complete. However, it won't matter in terms of drive time, because the campuses are practically next door to each other. Enjoy your Friday off as you make your way to Arkansas for Austin College at Hendrix. And as you enter the parking lot at Hendrix, be forewarned that there are no curbs and you could end up gashing your rental car on large rocks that serve as ... not sure what, money-makes for body shops. From there, you have enough time to hop over to see Willamette at Rhodes. Willamette is coming from a lot further than you are, for sure.
You have about three hours between games on Saturday to make that all work. Good luck. We don't send you anywhere you can't make, as long as traffic is flowing and the weather is reasonable. It should take about two and a half hours to make that last leg.
Now, there's also a way to get two games in the Pacific Northwest. Just two games on opening weekend is pretty minimal, though. Let's get some Saturday night games going, folks. Why are we all playing at the same time? But if you want to take it easy, then see Adrian at Pacific on Friday night and walk or bike over to George Fox as the Bruins host UW-Platteville.
