U.S. Merchant Marine Academy sophomore quarterback Bubba Mustain ran for 274 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 150 yards and two more scores as he led the Mariners to a 39-38 win vs. the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Saturday afternoon in Fenway Park. Ithaca knocked off Cortland for the Cortaca Jug, but it ended up not mattering for the Liberty League tiebreaker, as Union won the Dutchman Shoes rivalry game against RPI and clinched the LL automatic bid. Franklin & Marshall ensured that its NPI didn't matter, as the Diplomats went for two in overtime and defeated Johns Hopkins 29-28 for the Centennial Conference crown.

Who's clinched?

The following teams have clinched bids to the 2025 NCAA Division III football playoffs. Twenty-seven conferences receive automatic bids, with 13 at-large bids. The NESCAC does not participate in postseason play in football until 2026, and the SCAC does not qualify for an automatic bid.

JHU is safely in as an at-large, and still has a top eight seed. Bad news -- now Mount Union and North Central will be on the same side of the bracket, and slated to meet in the semifinals if they both advance.

Coe won at Central in a defensive battle and vaulted itself into an at-large spot with the 13-7 victory. Quincy Drummer ran for 128 yards and a touchdown in the win. After a scoreless first half, Coe scored on its first possession of the second when Quincy Drummer ran for a 63-yard score. The Kohawks (8-2) added a TD midway through the fourth and held on as Centra answered with a touchdown run, but had a fourth-and-4 play die on the Coe 26 with just seconds left.

All three WIAC teams are comfortably in the playoffs. As of 6 p.m. ET, the at-large teams are Johns Hopkins, Trinity (Texas), Salisbury, UW-Platteville, St. John's, Hope, UW-Whitewater, DePauw, UW-La Crosse, Muhlenberg, Wheaton, Coe and Grove City. First and second out are Ohio Northern and Central.

At Ithaca, Cortland's Mike Rescigno threw a 63-yard touchdown on the first snap of the fourth quarter to cut the Bombers' lead to 26-21. But Ithaca responded by milking nine minutes off the clock, and even though the Bombers, didn't score, they were able to punt and pin the Red Dragons on their own 7. Cortland marched down the field, converting two third downs and a fourth, getting as far as the 9 before Cam Paquette intercepted a Rescigno pass in the end zone with 1:11 to play. Cortland was able to use its timeouts and force a punt, and a poor pooch punt left Cortland on its own 40, but the Red Dragons had just one shot at the end zone and it was not enough. The win was not enough to move Ithaca into an at-large spot. The loss cost Cortland a first-round bye, and puts the Red Dragons in a first round game, likely at home, perhaps against someone such as Susquehanna.

Patch Flanagan threw for 239 yards and ran for 185, accounting for four total touchdowns in the Union win. The Garnet Chargers (8-2) finished the season unbeaten in Liberty League play and should be playing a road game in the first round. Owen Boland picked up a fumble and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown for RPI to cut the Union lead to 28-21, but RPI was able to get the ball back in good field position, but ran out of time when a third-and-goal pass from the 5 was stopped short of the end zone by Trey Rezendes III.

DePauw took the drama out of the Monon Bell game nice and early as the Tigers scored three second-quarter touchdowns to jump out to a 28-7 halftime lead and held on to defeat Wabash 41-20. The win put DePauw in the field as an at-large and left Wabash on the outside looking in. Tigers quarterback Scott Ballentine threw four touchdown passes, two of them to Lleyton Lukowski and one to his brother, Robby Ballentine. The win brought DePauw ever closer in the all-time series, as Wabash leads 63-59 with nine ties. Since the Bell itself was introduced, Wabash leads 44 to 43 with six ties. It's DePauw's fourth consecutive win in the series.

Montie Quinn ran for 218 yards for Curry, but Endicott scored 35 unanswered points in the second half as the Gulls won the Conference of New England, defeating the Colonels 45-17. Down 17-10 at the half, Endicott came out and went 83 yards in four plays on a Shea Lynch touchdown run. Markys Bridgewater added a 90-yard TD run, Bryan Ferreira added a 46-yard TD run and Bridgewater chipped in with a 47-yard TD run to put it away.

Crown qualified for the playoffs for the first time in program history, as the Polars defeated Greenville 38-20 on the road to win the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference championship. The Polars (7-3) will be the No. 40 seed in the 40-team tournament. Crown picked off three passes on the day — Rudy Criner returned his 63 yards for a touchdown, while Jaylen Gray and Maguire Keller collected the others.

Delaware Valley held Widener's passing attack to 92 yards and five interceptions, and the Aggies captured the Keystone Cup, 28-7. Senior cornerback Micah Bootman had two interceptions including a fourth quarter pick that set up DelVal's final touchdown.
