Thursday, Sept. 29: Randolph-Macon at Shenandoah |
Next: Week 6 |
|
You could have seen Shenandoah on the road back in Week 1, but here's an opportunity for a bonus game on a Thursday night, and that's always a benefit. Plus, we can call this week the ODAC/MIAA week, because you'd end up seeing half of each conference. Start the weekend with Randolph-Macon at Shenandoah. Perhaps Keith McMillan will be there -- who knows? You have the lovely leisurely trip a little bit down I-81 to see Emory and Henry at Washington and Lee on Friday night. And that will have given you half of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in a couple of days.
Here's where the driving starts, though. You've got nine hours to go overnight through West Virginia and Ohio to get to Michigan to see Adrian at Albion. That's one of the games on which the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association will rest this season, so it's good to get there. You finish with Olivet at Hope. Olivet is also a contender for the MIAA crown, so you'd see the projected top of the conference all on one day.
If you're going to take the easy way out on this trip, you can stop and find a single game in Ohio or something, but this is the last weekend with a Thursday game. Take advantage of it!
Total: Four games, 820 miles start to finish.
